STUDENT GROUP GRANTS

About Student Group Grants

Science Student Council runs the Student Group Grants (SGG) program, a strategic initiative  designed to financially empower student-led projects. This program is specifically designed to offer individual students, student groups or student clubs an opportunity to secure funding for diverse events and initiatives that enhance the science student experience.

Examples of events we have funded in the past are multidisciplinary networking events, industry speaker nights, conferences showcasing undergraduate research poster presentations and podcasts with science professors. We are always looking for new and innovative ideas and we encourage anyone with an initiative to enhance the science student experience to apply for funding.

Each proposal undergoes a meticulous review process by the Student Group Grants Selection Committee, which includes the SSC President, VP Finance, the Student Services Commissioner, and three elected SSC members, ensuring a fair and comprehensive evaluation.
